Zeldathon Echoes 2023

Zeldathon Echoes 2023

In 2023, I was invited to be a guest for Zeldathon Echoes. Zeldathon is a charity event that started in 2009, and through live streaming video games and events has raised over $3 million for various charity organizations.

While at the 2023 marathon, participated as a donation reader for a three way race, and also entertained and encouraged donations through fun incentives. Towards the end of the marathon, was one of the players for a Tears of the Kingdom segment where certain tasks and story elements had to be completed as part of the stream schedule.

Magic Wheelchair Charity Fundraiser

Magic Wheelchair Charity Fundraiser

Streaming video games on Twitch is not only a hobby, but has become a way for me to give back to communities that are doing great things, and really mean a lot to me.

In April of 2021, I selected the non-profit, Magic Wheelchair, to fundraise for. Magic Wheelchair is a non-profit that builds out of this world costumes and cosplays for children in wheelchairs, at no cost to the families.

I had the pleasure of meeting some of their team around 2019 while working a booth for Anime for Humanity, and got to see a cosplay reveal happen. I really admire the amount of work the staff and their partners put in to making these costumes is, and the joy on the kid’s and their family’s faces is priceless.

During the fundraiser, I set an initial goal of $1,000 and ended up raising a total of $1,560 over the course of 2 weeks.

For the third year running, I participated in the Anime for Humanity NewGame+ end of year fundraising campaign.

This year however, I decided to host a two week long event on my own channel, instead of the usual guest spot on the Anime for Humanity channel. Being new to hosting a charity event on my own, I set a reasonable goal of $150 to contribute the the overall NewGame+ goal through Tiltify, and met that within the first stream.

With the $150 goal met so quickly, I came up with new milestones and incentives to fill the remainder of the event, and ended up raising a total of $1,000!

NewGame+ Fundraiser 2019

NewGame+ Fundraising Campaign 2019

During the 2018 NewGame+ campaign, my role was more of a designer and supporting role. For 2019, my duties grew to not only branding the campaign and creating the promo graphics, but organizing between the teams involved and those that joined to assist with the fundraising.

I helped schedule streamers for the kickoff and streams throughout the month, while also participating myself, and made sure that everyone who was either going to be on the Anime for Humanity channel or their own channel had the proper graphics and one-sheet of information to say about NewGame+ campaign and how it helps AFH and their goals.

2018 was the first year for Anime for Humanity’s end of year campaign, NewGame+, and required it’s own logo and promotional graphics to set it a part from the other seasonal campaigns, but still remain consistent with the Anime for Humanity brand.

Along with designing the logo, promotional graphics, and other required assets, I participated as a guest streamer in the campaign launch on the Anime for Humanity Twitch channel.

During the live stream, I played video games and talked to viewers in the chat about AFH as a non-profit, their goals, how they are creating mental health awareness, and how donations will be used in the upcoming new year.
